Grafica Flextronics takes pride in introducing screen tension meter for easy calibrating the screen tension in Newton/Cm, while stretching the fabrics and on line in production. This will also helps to control the quality of out sourced screens and existing screens in the production.
In four color process of graphic screen printing, the variation in screen tension more than +/-1 Newton/Cm for the four screens will affect the output quality a lot due to out in registration and increases the quantity of rejections due to poor image quality.
This type of problems will reduce the profit and increase in rejection percentage in the case of industrial / technical screen printing for e.g. printed circuit boards, automotive decals, ceramic transfers etc.
This simple calibration helps in deciding the old screens whether to reclaim / develop or to re-stretch new fabric.
Only stencils with fabrics, which are tensioned under control and appropriate to the screen, function do not create problems of registration, lift-off, poor contours and reduced service life.
A fabric tension gauge should indicate a defined reproducible tension value. Newton/Cm (N/cm = 0.102 kp/cm) would be appropriate.
The Tension Meter is a mechanical precision instrument for testing fabric tension with a direct reading measuring system indicating - N/cm. NO errors possible due to wrong intermediate calculations. The range of 7-50 N/cm of the TENSION METER covers all tension values for textile stencil fabrics and is adequate for measuring the tension metal fabrics. The deviation from the absolute value N/cm is very small. A simple calibration check and a quick tuning to the value exclude wrong measurements. |
