Reflectors are to reflect the UV energy / light in a pattern best suited for fast curing. These Reflectors are widely grouped into 3 groups as follows :

  • Fig A. Parabolic Non Focused Reflectors.
  • Fig B. Conventional Elliptical Reflectors.
  • Fig C. Specially Designed Aluminum Extruded Elliptical Reflectors (Designed by Grafica Flextronica).

Parabolic Non Focused Reflectors :

Parabolic Non Focused Reflectors are directly reflect the UV energy / light on the substrate with straight beams (Fig. A) with approximate reflect area of 6" wide and equal in length to the arc of the lamp. These reflectors are applied to the flat substrate surface curing, the curing speed will be lower (G-1) compare to elliptical concentrated beam type reflectors (Fig. B) These are mainly suggested while curing cylindrical surface.

Conventional Elliptical Reflectors :

Conventional Elliptical Reflectors (Fig. B)are widely used as on today. They are efficient compare to Parabolic Non Focused Reflectors for flat substrate surface curing. These reflectors are highly concentrated band of UV energy approximately 3/8" wide and equal in length to the arc of the lamp. This concentrated beam (Fig. B) will enhance curing speed compare to direct reflection of Parabolic Non Focused Reflectors for flat substrate surface curing. These reflectors are less efficient compare to Specially Designed Aluminum Extruded Elliptical Reflectors.

Specially Designed Aluminum Extruded Elliptical Reflectors :

Specially Designed Aluminum Extruded Elliptical Reflectors (Fig. C) are similar to elliptical reflectors but having reflective surface (Graph G-1) on top of the lamp produces extra reflection, which reaches to flat substrate surface instead of falling on the top of the lamp.

This reflective portion (Fig. C) is definitely extra compare to any other reflectors approximately 20%, which enhance the curing speed than the widely used conventional elliptical reflectors. This extra reflective portion also avoids direct falling of UV light on the lamp top surface, which leads the low lamp temperature compare to the others and enhances the lamp life.

This reflectors having fins on top of reflectors will act as a heat sink ( Fig C)to remove heat from the reflector surface.

This design consists of replaceable highly reflective aluminum skin (Fig. C) (Reflective Liner), which is easy to replace over a period of time. This will reduce maintenance cost and makes maintenance easy.

These reflective sheets are highly polished and made of specially processed aluminum, which has high UV reflectivity, about 95% and resistance to tarnishing and corrosion far surpassing ordinary aluminum. The Specially Designed Aluminum Extruded Elliptical Reflectors, which are designed and used by Grafica Flextronica stands best compare to any other Reflectors available as on today.
