While rating DMI 7 out of 10 Mr. Khatavkar remarked that he liked the clean environment and it was a “great, wonderful experience”
An old time customer of Grafica Flextronica, a well wisher of DMI and an experienced person in screen printing, Sanjay Khanzode, CEO of Nashik based SMS IND is a 2nd Prize winner in all India screen printing competition of SPAI in 2002, 2nd Prize winner in Nashik printers Assoc. competition. His company undertakes labels, stickers printing on PVC paper. Besides attending training at Grafica and DMI he happened to attend a course at SST, Thal, Switzerland. At DMI he was exposed to Textile Transfers techniques. “It is very useful to understand the transfer manufacturing process & will be useful to start manufacturing” he said in his feedback after attending the workshop at DMI on Process Color Screen Printing which was held 8 to 10 February 2007, adding that the theory with practical on latest machines was something which he liked the most.
Commenting on his his over all experience at this workshop he said: It is most satisfactory and I gained a lot of new knowledge in textile transfer. Please fresh up other skills like stretching, reclaiming, exposing etc”. He concludes by rating DMI with 8 marks out of 10.
Screen printing is something which is very useful for taking up printing jobs on a variety of substrates including Leather. No wonder then that the proprietor of Chennai based ABC PRINTERS, M. Thaha Abdul Azeez, who undertakes multi colour printing on cracked leather materials decided to attend a seminar and workshop at DMI on Process Color Screen Printing which was held 8 to 10 February 2007 from which he gathered a variety of knowledge and also tips on proper use of screen printing machines. “It was better to be at DMI where everything looked perfect” he said adding that the knowledge that he gained at DMI would not only improve his skills but it cleared all doubts that he had in his mind about colour management.
Ink manufacturer, Zydex Industries, a well known company in the textile printing, also deputed K. B. VIJAY, a Manager of International Marketing based in Hyderabad. The company manufactures eco friendly water based inks. It was first in Asia to launch water based PVC free inks. When asked as to why did he attend the programme on Process Color Screen Printing which was held 8 to 10 February 2007 he being a marketing professional (in inks)?
And his reply is self explanatory: “It is very beneficial for me to promote our inks with newly acquired knowledge in screen printing basics. Since I am zero equipped with all basic knowledge of screen making, exposing, and stretching, the comprehensive knowledge gained in this course will go a long way in solving our customers’ problems more effectively”.
He continued by saying that he never attended such programme and the workshop especially the basics of process colour screen printing, profile making colour management, pre-on-post press basics were enlightening. “I don’t know about pre press operations much” he said adding that the cleanliness commitment towards imbibing screen printing techniques to the student, the collection of books in library, the tools for making screen printing more effective and understanding, are simply amazing. “I got an overall bird eye view of screen printing as far as process colour printing is concerned and how to use different tools to ensure good results and also profile making at DMI”.
Given a comprehensive outlook of screen printing industry including file processing that he got exposed at DMI, he rated the institute 8 on 10.
The seminar and workshop on Process Color Screen Printing held from 8 to 10 February 2007 also had yet another participant from Mumbai’s PARKSONS GRAPHICS . Viraj V. Gere, a Production Supervisor in the company said he learnt lot of knowledge in screen printing. “It is important to get training for each and every person working in screen printing industry” he suggests adding that the he liked the teaching system at DMI. “Thanks to DMI for such a excellent training and special thanks to Bhargav Mistry” he concludes.
The message of DMI also went to the fast growing IT industrial hub of the country, Bangalore after Charles A, CARD SOLUTIONS INC’s Production Supervisor, attended the Process Color Screen Printing workshop held in February 2007. The company undertakes screen printing on plastic PVC sheets and also leather printing jobs.
While sharing his experience he said that this was his first such programme. “I learnt about 4 colour process basics which is new for me and, secondly I gained knowledge in pre and post press operation which are more helpful for my day to day printing” he stated in his feedback adding that it is beneficial in the production point of view. I got exposed to basic problems solving in screen printing and its related areas at shopfloor. Above all, the programme taught me how to be more systematic as never before”. While giving 8 marks on 10, he commented that DMI has a clean and cool working atmosphere. For him the over all experience at this workshop was “Very good” as he said.
Valsad based EXCEL GRAPHICS PVT. LTD is Grafica’s new customer. It deputed its Manager- (Screen Printing Division) A. Shahid Sheikh to attend the Process Color Screen Printing workshop in February 2007. He looks after designing and production + quality tasks. For his too it was the first programme in screen printing. “I got exposed to the knowledge of pre press techniques, how to undertake quality production, criticality of screen printing, care to be taken before and after printing the jobs. It will definitely help us to produce good quality products, so that we will get more jobs and grow in our business. Also, it will also help us to make our production faster and reduce lead time” he commented adding that the workshop was excellent and the input on pre press activity was interesting. He rates DMI with 8 out of 10.
Hyderabad based RP AGENCIES which undertakes screen printing on flute board, foam board, acrylic. It won 3rd prize in Fespa Delhi 2006 for its foam board printing in 4-colour (Tata Indicom job). Its Production Manager R. Naresh who attended a workshop at DMI remarks: “Almost all basic needs of screen printing and 4 colour process printing on different substrate was explained to us. This was new and scientific too”. He continued his feedback to say “This is most beneficial for me and I was able to understand the basics of printing never before. I am going to implement every thing I learnt at DMI. Thanks to DMI for giving such a wonderful training”
What did he like the most at DMI? The cleanliness and the systematic approach in teaching screen printing techniques and of course, “Nice people, every thing went well according to the planning”. |
