of textile export and printing, a much larger demand for the training programmes. Meanwhile we bring here below experiences of some of the printer who had attended the workshop at DMI last March.
S. Murugesan, Partner of SRI RAMAKRISHNA PRINTERS, Tirupur undertakes Sticker, Tag, Transfer Sticker jobs. At DMI he found very interesting system and he could learn exposing and Screen making. As per DMI’s discovery at Tiruppur, the printers are very much lacking in the art of screen exposing and screen making. He said DMI is a “good support for printing people”.
A marketing executive of ZYDEX INDUSTRIES’ Tirupur branch too Tamilarasan S. had come all the way to attend the programme at DMI. What new things did he learn from the workshop? “Prepress and CMYK Transfer techniques”, says he adding that this will definitely improve his technical skills for effective marketing. “Practical training along with technical details offered by DMI that too with good setup of equipments and pleasant atmosphere” are something which he took back home with great experience.
Tiruppur based TEXPORTSYNDICATE IND. LTD deputed its Embroidery cum Printing Manager, Haridasan K. Nair to DMI to attend the workshop. He learnt the professional way of printing at the workshop as he never happened to attend any such programme in the past. When asked whether the workshop of any use for him, he said: “It will be very much benefited to our company for maintaining getting good quality”. He says that this was the first such institute that he came across. “House keeping and other set up at DMI are excellent. The self interest by DMI’s Director to promote the screen printing industry is worth noting” he said and rated DMI 9 on 10.
DMI’s message got flashed to the neighbouring country Sri Lanka as Chandana Sudath Basnayake, CEO-cum-General Manager of Colombo based HQT PRINT too took a chance to attend the workshop on textile printing. His company achieved 150% within 2 years as he said. It was his first such training. While sharing his experience he said the knowledge acquired at DMI will help to a greater extent. “Well balanced theory and practical, well organized course content comfortable environment/ facility. Excellent attempt by DMI to teach screen printing technology” he remarked in his feedback with a suggestion that the language must be in English (not only Hindi) and was generous enough to rate DMI with 9 out of 10.
D. Radha Krishnan, the Proprietor of DIGITAL COLOR SOLUTION came all the way from Salem (TN). His company undertakes consultancy and started making projects in dying. He found CMYR Process of Printing techniques interesting.
K.Sivakumar, a B-Tech graduate in Textile Chemistry works for ZYDEX INDUSTRIES at their Tirupur office. He undertakes Marketing activities. He is also getting trained in all kinds of printing. No wonder then he too attended the workshop on ‘Textile Transfer Screen Printing’ last March at DMI. “Practically I learnt how to make screen and pre press related details such as software application-to get the designed result in machines” he noted in his experience adding that overall, it is definitely beneficial for his business. “But still we need more such knowledge” he adds. He says he never heard or seen DMI kind of entire setup for screen printing and appreciated DMI’s technical as well as practical approach to training. “I had loved many things related to pre press and CMYK software applications. As a textile professionals, we need to show the results of CMYK on fabrics” he said.
Sethu Ramakrishnan, the Proprietor of GOKUL PRINTERS was another participant from Tirupur. His company undertakes offset printing. He witnessed a systematic approach to screen printing. “DMI is a system with practicality. I learnt that CMYK is possible in screens. They are good technical people” he writes in his feedback and continues, “Whatever I learnt are very useful – But language (Hinidi) is the problem. If you arrange the seminar in Tamil it will be very useful”.
Tiruppur based MITHUNRAM TEX deputed M.Sridhar Manian its Factory Manager from Bangalore to attend the workshop on textile printing.
The Graphic Designer of New Delhi based WELTECH INDIA PVT. LTD, Joginder Kumar too attended the workshop at DMI. His company is engaged in Shoe Design. Dalip Kumar Sahoa, a printing staff of the company also attended the workshop. Both the participants liked the environment at DMI and rated DMI 8 out of which 10.
A. Parameswaran, the Partner of SRI RAMAKRISHNAA STICKERS, a Tirupur based company engaged in Textile Transfer Stickers, Offset printing, labels, PVC stickers, Transfer prints, said “Very interesting and systematic approach of training in screen printing, especially the method of textile transfers. At DMI I learnt screen making, CMYK-screen process, full technical details of printing”. When asked what did he like the most at DMI he said, “DMI is a good supported for printing people as there are both men (technical people to teach) and machineries (to learn and see practical)”.
DMI had a management trainee who attended the ‘Textile Transfer Screen Printing’workshop on 22nd to 24th March 2007 which indicates that the DMI training programmes are for beginners as well, not just people who are already in the business for many years.
K. Srinivasan, a Management Trainee at TEXPORTSYNDICATE (I) LTD, Tirupur experienced a ‘Movie effect’ and had “an influence of squeezing effect in printing” as the young professional noted in his experience. For him attending the workshop at DMI was nothing but “Knowing a new subject”. “I never heard of any institute such as DMI”. What did this youth like the most at DMI? “Hospitality and clean environment”. His over all experience at this workshop? “Good”.
The Printing Manager of Tiruppur TEXPORT SYNDICATE, Jitendra Raj Purohit. The company also undertakes Printing jobs with good quality production. He however never undergone any systematic training or course like this in screen printing. But at DMI he learnt the professional way of printing.
