Interestingly, the workshops and seminars at DMI also had the participation from senior officials of India’s leading textile printing ink manufacturer, Zydex Industries Ltd.
Madhuresh Kumar Sinha, General Manager (China) attended the programme on Textile Transfer & Screen Printing held from 18 to 20 January 2007 . For him DMI was a first experience and gave him all the knowledge in basics of screen making and printing. In his feedback he wrote that he liked the environment, staff , the setup, equipment and workshop at DMI. “Wonderful experience, I learnt a lot. knowledge is a continuous process, therefore continuous production techniques will be required learnt”, he said. And his ranking for DMI? “As of now 8/10 as compared to training programmes and as far as printing course is concerned it is 10/10”.
Jaipur based ELFAD GRAPHICS’ Partner Sanjay Ghabra undertakes a variety of printing jobs such as flex, sun board, sun pack, banner printing. However, he hardly underwent any systematic training or course like the one he attended at DMI. “I learnt screen printing process and quality control and it will help in improving the quality. He liked the method of training at DMI and he has a valid suggestion to make: “I learnt about screen printing but before giving the detailed knowledge on printing techniques, DMI should make participates understand about the entire printing process”,.
Mumbai based VASTRA CREATIONS’ partner Niraj M. Dharia undertakes direct printing jobs. For him the workshop at DMI brought knowledge in screen printing right from basics to advanced version. “It will help a lot in many ways to upgrade skills and better management of the screen printing business”. When I asked whether he heard any institute like DMI, he shots back with a reply: “Not in India” and adds to say that he liked the simple to understand theory and practice. For him the overall experience was “Just excellent”, no wonder then that he rates DMI 10 on 10 with a remark that it is “clean, well equipped & managed”. He expressed his high emotions to DMI’s Director Bhargav Mistry and his team: “Keep it on. Well done. Just personal note from myself with all best wishes and hearty congratulation for your efforts towards DMI to upgrade every single persons knowledge”.
“It was fantastic experience at DMI. We got much more than what we expected in terms of knowledge, techniques and technology. The live show of printing and practical application of all the techniques which was also taught theoretically got absorbed simultaneously. This was the most significant thing which helped us in grasping and understanding minute details. I sincerely appreciate and congratulate Bhargav Mistry by initiating such an institution”, these are the words of Narender Sabloak, Partner of Mumbai based KOSMOPOLITAN ENT who under take Transfer Printing jobs.
He continued his expressions by saying that he never undergone any course like this. “Overall, it is beneficial to your business to upgrade my knowledge and to keep myself being at par with the latest technology.
When asked him about what did he like the most at DMI, Mr. Sabloak replied to say that the systematic teaching technique, very co-operative staff, cleanliness and hospitality, and of course the equipment and machinery at DMI deployed for teaching purpose are worth noting.
C. S. Muthukumar, Managing Partner of SHAKTHI TRANSFER came all the way from Tirrupur, from down south, to attend a programme at DMI on Textile Transfer & Screen Printing held from 18 to 20 January 2007.
His company undertakes direct printing and heat transfer sticker jobs. He happened to attend a basic course at AEPC at Tirupur in the past. However at DMI he could learn techniques of CMYK prints, besides seeing a clean the factory which is rare at Tiruppur and he rates DMI 9 out of 10.
Of course, he being a person with humane touch, had a different experience at DMI which was rather related to softer side of the management he says: The Director of DMI is down to earth, he gives respect to his staff which is important in today’s business management especially in a labour intensive sector like textile printing.
“I learnt many techniques at DMI. I liked the concept of giving training to print institute students at DMI. But DMI should train unskilled staff also, not just students, because at Tiruppur workers are mostly uneducated and lack knowledge in printing” |
