Seminar on Understanding Color Screen Printing
Date: 11 to 13 Jan 2007

Mr. Uttamchand, a ceramic designer at JAIPUR based CLAY CRAFT PVT. LTD who has undertaken design developing on bone china ware is a B. FA (Rajasthan School of art) degree holder. He attended a program at DMI from 11th to 13th Jan 07.  While sharing his experience at DMI he said he learnt the right pre press work for screen printing. He says learning at DMI will help  develop more balanced quality for process color printing. “Training process is good and my over all experience at DMI is simply mind blowing”, commented Uttamchand who rated DMI 10 out of 10.

His colleague, V. S. Chandel, a printing supervisor at CLAY CRAFT PVT. LTD has experience in Ceramic Transfer printing. He prints halftones with only two specific angles.  In his feedback he commented he never undergone a systematic training or course like the one at DMI. “It is my first such training.  The new technique in printing which I learnt is applicable in our job . I think it is very useful in the coming years. I think there is no training institute like DMI. This institute is a milestone in printing technology” he said adding that  DMI is a well maintained and self disciplined institute.

“My over all experience at this workshop is wonderful” said Chandel and like his colleague he too rated DMI with a score of 10 on a scale of 1-10

There was another participant from CLAYCRAFT (I) PVT. LTD, Soumitra Shaw, who too attended the program at DMI on from 11th to 13th Jan 07.  In fact he has undertaken over all designing and printing jobs in his company with some experience in process color printing. Though he had his education at Kolkata based RIPT in printing technology. However, he confirmed that he had neither undergone any such training in the past nor  heard of  institute like DMI . He said that with the knowledge imparted at DMI,  one man can handle complete screen printing process and it will help develop more quality on transfer print front.

Mr. Shaw was full praise for  DMI. “Perfection in screen printing what liked the most here” he said adding that  DMI’s dedication  can bring a new horizon in screen printing”.  He rated DMI with 8 points on a scale of 1-10.

The proprietor of Morbi (Gujarat) based STAR CERAMIC DECORATOR,  Mr. Patel Paresh said he never got an opportunity to undergo a systematic training in screen printing like at DMI.  His company undertakes screen printing jobs on tiles. For him process color printing, color management, profile was something new he learnt at DMI. “It will go a long way in enhancing our designing and output of positives and printing quality”.

He said he never undergone any systematic training or course like DMI. “I even never heard of an institute like DMI” he said adding that he liked the system of training involving theory and practice.

Commenting on his over all experience at this workshop, he said “I was very very happy at DMI and I rate DMI ’10 out of 10”.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 


“I would like to come again, to learn more”, this what  Mr. Anil Mehta, Proprietor of Mumbai based SILSCREEN ARTS, who never attended any systematic training in the past said after attending a Seminar on ‘Understanding Color Screen Printing’ held from 11-13 January 2007 at DMI. His company undertakes screen printing, acid resist, solvent printing on glass and had won a 2ND PRIZE for GLASS, TILES printing from SPAI in 2004-05

While sharing his experience at DMI he said “I learnt technical automation and systemization in screen printing which is something new to me. Whatever I learnt at the workshop will go a long way in helping me upto 50% especially in color screen making.  “I never heard of any training institute like DMI” he remarked adding that there is a professional as well as homely atmosphere and gives 8 marks out of 10 for DMI.

DMI message even goes to remote places such as Alibag-Raigad in Maharashtra. Owner of DESIGN GRAPHIX  from this place, Mr. Sudhir D. Agravkar, who undertakes  pre press design, screen printing, offset printing jobs  had won various awards in book printing and designing, cover design etc. on state/national level. However he said he had never undergone a systematic training or course like this (DMI) in screen printing held from 11-13 January 2007.  “I learnt the importance of cleanness required at workshops, use of UV inks, exposing system and I could see advanced screen printing machines at DMI manufactured by Grafica”.

Overall it is  beneficial to my business, he said. “Before coming to DMI I felt like in a pond (of screen printing), but after the training, I think that I am in an ocean of screen printing.

“For the first time I attended this type of seminar and it was good experience. I like UV dryer, small type of screen machines” said  Ms. Snehal Patel,  Proprietor of Surat based  AAKRUTI PRINTERS, in her feedback after attending a Seminar on ‘Understanding Color Screen Printing’ held from 11-13 January 2007.  “I learnt screen making , how to get fast result by screen printing, use of UV dryer and ink and it will help up  40% in color management.. She said she never heard of any training institute like DMI.
